The left of the screen acts as joystick, allowing you to move Spidey in every direction, whereas the right side is used for looking around. The controls in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are simple to master, especially if you played the first installment of the game. Your performance is measured against others' online with game currency up for grabs.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features an ' Arena' mode which is a fun free-for-all romp in which you must defeat as many baddies as you can before you die. Side missions are fun at first, but they soon become repetitive and a bit dull, which is frustrating when you need to play through them to earn coins. The stories in each chapter are nicely woven around the dastardly antics of a particular villain, making the story mode a joy to play. Many of the famous bad guys from the comics and movies feature in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, including Electro, Venom, and the Green Goblin.
Although it's a paid game, you may find yourself having to make payments - or at least 'grind' by repetitively playing side missions - in order to defeat certain opponents to progress through the story. There are side missions which allow you to earn credits to purchase items or unlock new skills. Curt Connors AKA Lizard, who this gameplay demo focuses on.The action in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is essentially based around whizzing above the city on your webs, then splashing down to kick some butt or help out someone in need.
Kraven – bored with his hunts in the jungle – makes his way to New York to hunt the two Spider-Men and a host of Spider-Man villains, including one Dr. The trailer opened with a gruff man walking through a dark and dingy jungle – not exactly the most evocative of Spider-Man – revealing that Kraven The Hunter is set to be one of the primary villains for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 alongside the already revealed Venom.
But there was one game that everyone was there to see, and that was Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which showed off gameplay for the first time since it was revealed back in September 2021. Last night's PlayStation Showcase was packed to the brim with new reveals, like the new PlayStation handheld Project Q, the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, and release dates for titles like Alan Wake 2 and Assassin's Creed Mirage. Sony has give us our first look at Marvel's Spider-Man 2 gameplay, since it was first announced just under two years ago.
